Nonprofit organizations denouncing a bill now on Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's desk should realize that the bill is in their own best interest, a spokesman from Attorney General Bill Lockyer's office said.
Senate Bill 1262 would require that nonprofits with an income of $2 million or above file an annual audit. It also includes strict requirements about fund-raising professionals who contract with nonprofit organizations."
