Hispanic Business - Hispanic Business Magazine 2004 Entrepreneur of the Year

Hispanic Business - Hispanic Business Magazine 2004 Entrepreneur of the Year: "Hispanic Business last night also presented its second-annual Lifetime Achievement Award. Honoring the pivotal role of academia in entrepreneurial evolution, this year's award winner is Marta Tienda, professor of Demographic Studies in the Department of Sociology and Public Policy at Princeton University.

Nearly two decades ago, Dr. Tienda published one of her first books 'Hispanics in the U.S. Economy,' an early work on occupational structure. Since then she has continued to publish numerous studies, including more than 100 scholarly papers on Hispanic employment, entrepreneurship, youth, culture, and the passage of wealth between generations. More recently, her research has shifted to the consequences of admission policies on minorities in higher education.

In addition to her prodigious academic achievements, she works tirelessly to better her community through the advancement of public policy and philanthropy"
