In this region, which covers Latin America & the Caribbean, there have been 12 events since the first one was held in 1992.
Recent events
The First Hemispheric Congress on Fundraising was a collaboration between the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Resource Alliance.
The Congress took place on 3-5th February 2005 at the Presidente InterContinental Hotel in Mexico City and attracted 455 delegates from across Latin America.
Delegates heard presentations and case studies from some of the leading fundraising practitioners in the region and from the US. Presentations and handouts from the sessions will be posted on the AFP website www.afpnet.org in Spanish, Portuguese and English. The Resource Alliance and AFP now plan to collaborate together on a second congress in 2006. The date and venue are yet to be agreed but will be announced in the next few months. "
