It took just one day last fall for public and Catholic school students in Peel Region's 347 schools to raise $1.1 million for the Terry Fox Foundation.
It's a dramatic example of the kind of big money kids are raising these days as charity becomes a growing part of the mainstream curriculum in Ontario schools, where citizenship and character education are increasingly being emphasized"
