Budget Cuts Mean School Fundraisers on the Rise - The Juggle - WSJ

Budget Cuts Mean School Fundraisers on the Rise - The Juggle - WSJ: "School hasn’t even started in my community and fundraising is already at a fever pitch. Signs soliciting school donations dot the roadsides. Parents are organizing events and phone-a-thons to re-hire laid-off teachers or keep extracurricular programs running."

As a parent these fund raisers can be irritating and humiliating. I don’t like having my children go through the neighborhood trying to sell to the neighbors. They just aren't meant to be door-to-door sales people. I also don’t like begging my childless co-workers to buy cheap wrapping paper or cookie dough. Ugh! Its the part of school I like the least. But, I very recently discovered the most amazing new school fundraiser company that sells organic, recycled, sustainable, non-toxic and biodegrable fund raising products. They are fabulous!!! It’s so much better to have our children selling items for their school fundraiser that people would really like and feel good about buying and using. Check out their site for ideas. This could be fantastic to support our schools and shop earth-friendly: http://www.brightgreenkids.net
Share this with your school or with friends who have kids in school. I think it’s amazing. I would buy some of this stuff gladly if I could only get my school to sign up.
