Friend-in-Deed, others benefit from record-setting bell ringer - Springfield, IL - The State Journal-Register: While Darrell Tureskis was ringing his bell for the Salvation Army for 60 straight hours the past few days, he was also raising money for Friend-in-Deed.

He said officials with The Salvation Army allowed him to raise money on his own while he competed in the bell-ringing contest. The 49-year-old owner of Nyilas Carpet Cleaning and Restoration set a world record for Salvation Army bell ringing, beating out 23 other competitors nationwide.
