It has 450 million people who are living in poverty and also has 57 billionaires, according to Forbes, as well as a rapidly increasing group of millionaires. According to Bain and Company, India’s 20 wealthiest individuals have doubled their combined wealth, but this super rich class is only giving between 1.5% and 3% of their yearly income, paling in comparison to the 9 percent donated each year in the U.S. “

Trickle-Forward Economics: Scott Harrison's Water-Based Experiment In Viral Philanthropy | Fast Company: The same strategy has propelled a new experiment in micro-philanthropy with WaterForward, a pay-it-forward model of charitable giving where, for $10, a donor inscribes a friend of his or her choosing in a public book; each donor can only be in the book once, so any sense of reciprocation has to be directed to another friend, hopefully sparking a cascade of forward reciprocity. The ultimate goal is to bring clean water to a billion people who don't have it; 100% of public donations go to clean water projects. Physical volumes of the book will be printed every time an "edition" is one million people strong.

The sorority will accept items through Nov. 12. They can be dropped off at the Trojan House restaurant on Avalon Avenue in Muscle Shoals or at several places on UNA’s campus, philanthropy chairwoman Luisa Oswalt said.

Baylis, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Rubin Museum announced that the Museum has received a $25 million gift from Shelley and Donald Rubin, the Museum’s founders. The gift will be dedicated to helping fund operations, exhibitions and programs over the next five years as the Rubin continues its initiatives to diversify its leadership and broaden its funding base.
