Washington County day of giving raises nearly $400,000

Observer-Reporter | Washington County day of giving raises nearly $400,000: Washington County’s first “day of giving” to benefit local charities raised nearly $400,000 in a 12-hour online campaign Tuesday.

The sum represents gifts from more than 1,000 donors in the fundraiser sponsored by Washington County Community Foundation, according to the organization’s website.

By presidential proclamation, Americans are called on to participate in a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 AM Eastern Daylight Time on September 11. They may also observe the day with ceremonies and activities, including remembrance services. Flags should be displayed at half-staff in honor of the individuals who lost their lives.
